Blaise Garza currently performs in San Diego bands Mad Traffic and High Tide.

Blaise Garza is an accomplished saxophonist. He began his professional career at the age of 15 when he was discovered by The Violent Femmes. He toured with them for four years across the west coast playing venues such as The Fillmore, Qualcomm Stadium, House of Blues (San Diego, Sunset Strip, Anaheim, and Las Vegas), Orange County's New Year's Eve 2006, Santa Anita Racetrack, and Del Mar Racetrack, amongst many others. He has also performed with legendary saxophonist and recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Steve MacKay of Iggy Pop and The Stooges.

Blaise performs on a variety of instruments including the entire saxophone family (from the high Bb Soprillo to the mighty Eb Contrabass and Bb Tubax), trombone, the clarinet family, shakuhachi, marimba, and many others.

Blaise is currently a student at UCSD studying music, computing, and the arts. He composes for orchestral philharmonia as well as smaller ensembles in his free time. He also enjoys surfing, parkour, and gymnastics.
